August 1940 — the accident that never happens.

On 4 June 1942, Werner Heisenberg meets Albert Speer to discuss the prospects for a German atomic bomb. In real history, the critical-mass figure Heisenberg gave was seriously wrong. Here, he gives Speer the correct figure — transforming the German leadership’s understanding of what an atomic weapon would require and making a workable bomb programme possible.

June 1944 — the command delay never happens.
On 5–6 June 1944, Rommel is historically away from the Normandy front and German panzer reserves cannot be released promptly without Hitler’s authority. Here, Rommel remains at his post and Hitler has already delegated authority over the reserves. The command delay disappears — allowing German armour to react while the Allied beachheads are still vulnerable.

July 1941 — the drive on Moscow continues.
On 19 July 1941, Hitler issues Directive 33, diverting armour from Army Group Centre towards operations in Ukraine and the north. In this history, that decision is reversed. The panzer forces remain concentrated on the central axis and the German advance towards Moscow continues instead of being interrupted by the historical diversions.

At roughly 06:15 on 4 June 1942, Chikuma’s No. 1 scout aircraft searches for the American carrier force at Midway. In real history, reconnaissance fails to reveal it in time. Here, a break in the cloud gives the scout the sighting history denied — changing the carrier battle while leaving Midway an American victory and allowing USS Yorktown to survive.
